2025 Motor Show

The 46th Annual Motor Show and Swap Meet started off in 2025 with one of the wettest beginnings to the year that we have seen for a long long time. And with that comes complications like the Showgrounds being very sodden in the back corner of the Swap Meet area! The team behind the Swap Meet coordination kept an eye the sky in the weeks leading up to June but luckily the water didn't come out of the sky ..... but did come out of the ground.

With a re-configuration of the Swap Sites we squeezed the already-booked attendees into the balance of the areas we could use and still had a full Swap area.

Thanks to Corin and the team for all your hard work in continuing the Swap Meet for 2025. Although we loved the rain, maybe a bit less next year is on the cards (crossing fingers!)

A different event this year was the Saturday Night dinner and Trivia Night. During early discussions with our Judge Matt Gilkes on unrelated items, Matt revealed that he was a bit of a Trivia Tragic and offered to write and host the night with prize money from Gold City Mini Bins.

Held at the Civic Club, the 45 attendees enjoyed a lovely 2-course meal (the broccoli salad and apple crumble come highly recommended!) in the historic walls of the club, The Questions around Car Culture were......hard....... but in the end Fat But Fair won with Rats Pack second and Overdrive third. Thanks to Gayle, Scotty and Angela at the Civic Club for their hospitality.

The Observation Rally this year saw a few changes where passengers had to exit the vehicles to get answers to some questions, as well as picking up a card for the "Poker Hand" to win a price , There was only 1 report of a participant getting lost so maybe we might have to make it harder next time. The top 3 with the most correct answers were only separated by 4 minutes in total - very very close results.

The hotly contested Go To Whoa had the additional prize money for the Saturday's Top Qualifier in 2025.
We also had 2 special guests who had a go as well, with two truckies who heard about the show and stayed for what they described as "the best weekend we've had in ages", entertaining the crowd with their attempts. If they can have a got in their big rigs then maybe more people will next year - who knows!

Initially it was predicted to be a bit overcast and cold, but as we got closer it was quite pleasant and the sun shining brightly for presentations with many happy entrants to walk away with prizes.

Our Supreme Entrant winner this year was the second to walk away with GOLD as the main prize - and for the second year it was a female winner! Come on boys - participation is the key!

Here are the results for the trophies

See you again 5th, 6th and 7th June 2025
